Curriculum Goals
LANGUAGE ARTS/READING: letters & sounds(review), sight words, writing, grammar, reading,write 5 complete sentences
READING: “Sensational Six” comprehension,phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency, orallanguage, vocabulary
MATH: number sense, concepts and operations,geometry, algebraic thinking, measurement

Classroom Grades
●Every week we collect two grades for Reading,Language Arts and Math. Grades may consist ofassessments (tests), graphs, thinking maps, writingprompts, and Homework participation.
●We collect one grade for science and social studies bi-week.
●Students have started Accelerated Reader. Please sendin books your child has read at home. We will type inthe title and search for comprehension quizzes. *SeeParent letter for passwords.
Homework Policy
*Please encourage your child to do their best on
their homework. Please use pencil.
●Homework is Monday through Thursday.
●Please turn in daily.
●If extra Math(Reteaching) practice is sent homeyour child may skip the Enrichment Homeworkpaper.
●Participation grades are taken for completedHomework.
Attendance Policy
●Attendance is mandatory.
●After an absence, parents must send a notewith their child to school explaining theabsence.
●Excessive tardiness will result in studentreferrals.
Uniform Policy
●Students must wear their uniforms everyday.
●Please teach your child to tie shoes.
