In the beginning God created…

Day 7: rest
One couple.
Two trees.
Two brothers.
One family.
The LORD God caused a deep sleep to come over theman, and he slept. God took one of his ribs andclosed the flesh at that place. Then the LORD Godmade the rib He had taken from the man into a womanand brought her to the man.
Genesis 2:21-22
Then the LORD God formed the man out of the dustfrom the ground and breathed the breath of life into hisnostrils, and the man became a living being.
Genesis 2:16-17
One Couple
And the LORD God caused to grow out of the groundevery tree pleasing to the eye and good for food,including the tree of life in the middle of the garden, aswell as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 2:9
You are free to eat from any tree of the garden, butyou must not eat from the tree of the knowledge ofgood and evil, for on the day you eat from it you willcertainly die.

Two Trees
Now Abel became a shepherd of flocks, but Cain workedthe ground.
In the course of time Cain presented some of the land’sproduce as an offering to the Lord. And Abel alsopresented an offering – some of the firstborn of his flockand their fat portions.
The Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, but He didnot have regard for Cain and his offering. Cain was furious,and he looked despondent.
Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you furious?
And why do you look despondent? If you do what is right,won’t you be accepted? But if you do not do what is right,sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but youmust rule over it.” Genesis 4:2-7
Two Brothers
When the Lord saw that man’s wickedness waswidespread on the earth and that every scheme hismind thought of was nothing but evil all thetime, the Lord regretted that He had made man on theearth, and He was grieved in His heart.
Then the Lord said, “I will wipe off from the face of theearth mankind, whom I created, together with theanimals, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky – forI regret that I made them.”
Noah, however, found favor in the sight of the Lord.
