•Went to school there,studied geometry and Latin

•He lived there until he was14

•Then moved to Florencewhere he began anapprenticeship in theworkshop of Verrocchio.

•started an apprenticeship inthe workshop of Andrea delVerrocchio 1466 (sculptor,painter, goldsmith, bronzecaster and more)

•First he mixed colors andthen he painted simple partsof paintings, taught himselfto paint in oils at this time

•He surpassed Verrocchioand it is said that Verrocchionever painted again afterthat.

•Probably because of his abundanceof diverse interests, da Vinci failedto complete a significant number ofhis paintings and projects. He spenta great deal of time immersinghimself in nature, testing scientificlaws, dissecting bodies (human andanimal) and thinking and writingabout his observations. Only 15 ofhis paintings have survived

• RENOVATIONS ELIMINATED APORTION OF THE LAST SUPPER.

•In 1652, a doorway was added to the wall thatholds the painting. Its construction meant thata lower central chunk of the piece—whichincluded Jesus' feet—was lost.
