Scrapbook

The People's Collection Wales scrapbook is where you can store all yourfavourite items from around the collection. You can then use thescrapbook items or add to content on the site such as collections, stories,themes and learning materials.

Story Builder

The Story Builder allows you to use video, audio and image items fromthe scrapbook to create a brand new video. Images, video and audiofiles can be located on a time-line to build up your stories. Title slides andcaptions can also be created to add a narrative to the video.

Timeline

With the map timeline you can search the content by its relevance inhistory. By moving the sliders on the timeline, you can select a specificdate range and the map will then only display items related to that daterange. For example, if you are looking for information on the SecondWorld War you can search for items related to Cardiff on the map, thenuse the timeline to filter the search results to show only items relevant tothe date range 1939-1945

Trail Builder

The Trail Builder allows you to quickly and easily create a trail andpublish it to all other users of the site. The process of creating a trail hasbeen made as simple as possible so that everyone can feel confidentusing the Welsh landscape to create routes that bring their stories to life.

In most cases the trails available on People's Collection Wales havebeen designed for users to follow on foot or by transport. They can alsobe used to show journeys that are not designed to be followed byanyone, but illustrate and historical journey or the movement of peopleand commodities.

history, geography, art and language – for learners of all ages.

Explore photographs, documents, oral history.

You'll also find historical Ordnance Survey maps and a variety of aerialphotographs, both historical and modern, showing the development of an area.

Use the free learning activities and resources, created by teachers andeducation officers, which can be found in the Learning section of the website

Learning

Students can share information, publish their findings or interpret the resourcesavailable on the website.

The People's Collections Wales Learning Officer is available to introduce thewebsite, offering training sessions on how to make the most of the resourcesand use the online tools.
