It has the shape of three-sided pyramid placed on oneof its angle (NECK).
Apex:
Is directed forward
Is related to upper border ofsymphysis pubis
Is connected to umbilicus bythe median umbilical ligament(remnant of urachus)

Held in position by 2fibromuscular bands thathook around the neckand the pelvic part of theurethra and fix them tothe postero-inferior partof the 2 pubic bones.

2. Membranous urethra(1/2 inch) = narrowestpart: Passes throughthe urogenitaldiaphragm

Female Urethra
It is short, about 1 ½inches (4 cm) long.
- It extends from the neckof the urinary bladder,then it passesdownwards andforwards.
- It lies just anterior to thevagina.

Male: Prostatic Plexus
Female: Vesical Plexus and Pudendalnerve
