It is the objective of theChaplain to:

COMMUNICATION
Increase awareness of the actualwording of the First Amendment to theU.S. Constitution, with regard toreligious expression.
Educate members on awareness of thediversity of all faiths and cultures.
Provide and promote emotional andspiritual support to, The AmericanLegion Family by sending e-mails,prayers, etc…

Take responsibility for all invocations,benedictions and memorial services fordeceased members at officialmeetings.
Recommend educational materials thatpromote a spirit of unity and love.
Schedule spiritual events throughoutthe year providing fellowship time andspiritual growth. e.g.. 911 ceremonies,Chapel of Four Chaplains Services,Memorial services, etc.

FOUR CHAPLAINS
Encourage Units, Districts andDepartments to hold a Four ChaplainsService.
Ceremonies are usually observed onthe first Sunday in February, as theactual event took place in the earlymorning hours of February 3, 1943.
Invite other Units, Districts, etc. tocome and share the remembrance.
