Introduction
This webquest is aimed towardelementary school, children 2through 4 graders. You willsearch about the holiday,Christmas and how it iscelebrated all over the world.
You will then have to talk about howChristmas is celebrated in theirown culture as well as othercultures.
You have to describe at least 5countries or cultures’ view onChristmas.
Then talk about all the traditions thatare important to them.
At the end of the searches you willcreate a presentation and makeup some of your own traditionsand ways to celebrate Christmas.This new celebration will havenothing to do with your traditionit will be different from what youare accustomed to. For example:instead of putting up a Christmastree you can plant flowers.
You will be put into a group of five. Eachperson will choose a country from thelist and answer the questions.
At the end of your search you are going toshare with each other what you havefound out about your country’s“Christmas”.
Finally, after you have shared yourfindings you will then as a groupproduce a Power Point Presentationabout your country. After each slidewith the information you found, you willcreate your own version of Christmas.
Make up your own traditions, differentfrom what you are use to. Be creativeand original!
