What is Reading Recovery?
Individual students receive a half-hour lesson eachschool day for 12 to 20 weeks with a speciallytrained Reading Recovery teacher. As soon asstudents can meet grade-level expectations anddemonstrate that they can continue to workindependently in the classroom, their lessons arediscontinued, and new students begin individualinstruction.

What Curriculum is Used?
The Reading Recovery program cannot becompared with any classroom program or anyteaching method. It is designed to take thechildren who become the lowest achievers in anyclassroom program and were taught by anyteaching method and provide them with a series oflessons supplementary to that program.
