The new performance expectations pave the way for the PARCC (Partnership forAssessment of Readiness of College and Careers) assessments to replace theISAT in Math and English Language Arts. The transition is scheduled for the 2014-2015 school year and will include a computer-based assessment that will providemore timely results.
Currently, CPS is using the NWEA MAP Test as a benchmark test to measure studentgrowth. MAP provides timely data, pinpointing a student’s area of strength andweakness for both Math and Reading.
At Thorp we use MAP data to help differentiate instructional practices as well as toexamine trends in the overall growth of our students.
