The Three Branches of Government
The three branches of the federalgovernment are the executive, legislative, andthe judicial branches.
The executive branch is responsiblefor enforcing laws. The head of the executivebranch is The President. The President is thechief law enforcer of the United States. ThePresident is also the head of the armed forces.
The legislative branch makes laws. Thelegislative branch is known as Congress.Congress consists of two houses, known asthe Senate and the House of Representatives.
The judicial branch interprets laws. TheSupreme Court heads the judicial branch. Thejudicial branch decides if laws are constitutional.
