Community service is when someone performsan action which benefits his or her community.
Community Service gives you a since of pridewhen you can make a difference in yoursurroundings.
Gives people an opportunity to work withothers.
Provides service for the needy.
It feels good to give back to the community.
Shows good citizenship and an appreciation forwhere you come from.
A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministryfounded on the conviction that every man,woman and child should have a decent, safeand affordable place to live. We build withpeople in need regardless of race or religion.We welcome volunteers and supporters from allbackgrounds.
Is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. Itoffers everyone in a community an opportunity toparticipate in the fight against cancer. Teams of peoplecamp out at a local high school, park, or fairground andtake turns walking or running around a track or path.Each team is asked to have a representative on thetrack at all times during the event. Relays are anovernight event, up to 24 hours in length.
Teams of people from all walks of life have fun whileraising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raiseawareness of cancer prevention and treatment.
When I participated in Relay for life, I helpedout at the freshmen year experience booth. Wehad a game where people would threw darts atballoons that were taped to a board when theypopped a balloon they won a prize which was abag of candy.
I also walked around the track from 8:30 to 9.
