Goals specifically identify eight globalchallenges for which urgent action isstipulated; among them:
Global partnerships, education, health, genderequality, environmental sustainability,empowerment of women and the elimination ofracism and other forms of discrimination.
PURPOSE
To engage universities in joint efforts to offermeaningful service to communities in need ofprofessional and technical support.
To collaborate in order to overcome obstacles tothe inclusion of minority populations; viz. socialinequality, poverty and race based exclusionarypractices.
To create a new vision and a new paradigm forincreasing opportunities in regional andinternational economic development initiatives.
To foster enterprise growth and trade opportunitythrough public and private sector interventiondesigns.
To strive to achieve the eradication of poverty inall its forms in the region.
