MIICE quality framework (toolbox)

There are 13 quality indicators refined from observation ofqualities resulting from good use of ICT in classrooms

7 QIs relate to learners’ skills, attitudes and insights

3 QIs relate to the management of learning

3 QIs relate to teachers’ CPD in ICT

Quality indicators are expanded into themes

Headings within themes are the basic building blocks of theframework

Used to plan targets or success criteria

Can also be used for review or audit

MIICE quality framework

Validated through interviews with 242 Scottishteachers in 67 schools in 11 EAs

Strength of partnership and framework comes fromthe development of the initiative from within theeducation system and not through imposition fromScottish Government

HMIE are in sympathy with the partnership aims

Learning and Teaching Scotland are members of the partnership
