Workshop Objectives

To present an overview of global initiatives onstatistical data and indicators of violence againstwomen

To introduce a module developed by the UnitedNations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE)

To share experiences and lessons learned by Asia-Pacific countries

To encourage joint strategies and collaboration betweennational statistical offices and national women’smachineries

To introduce the planned regional web-portal onviolence against women measurement.

Attendance

24 stakeholders from 9 countries in the Asia-Pacificregion

- Bangladesh, China, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Pakistan,Solomon Islands, Thailand, Timor-Leste

Two or three representatives from each country, comingfrom national women’s machineries, national statisticsoffices and civil society
