EARLY LIFE
Born: 21 Westland Row, Dublin, Ireland. 16October, 1854.
Father: Sir William Wilde.
Mother: Jane Wilde.
Second of three children.
Father was well educated and was an ear and eyesurgeon.
Mother wrote poetry for Irish newspaper.
EDUCATION
Homeschooled until the age of 9.
Attended Portora Royal School in Enniskillen.
Scholarship to Trinity College, Dublin.
Left Trinity for scholarship to Magdalen College,Oxford.
Applied for Oxford Union, but was rejected.
Placed first in finals.

Married to Constance Lloyd in 1884.
Two sons.
Had affair with Lord Alfred Douglas,nicknamed ‘Bosie’.
Bosie became love of his life.

Sentenced to two years of hard labor in1895.
Wrote De Profundis in prison.
Wrote The Ballad of Reading Gaol uponrelease in 1897
Died in 1900
