The project is about the USA. I’ve chosen this topic becauseI think the USA is a very beautiful and unusual country.
Washington.
Washington is the capital ofthe United States; it isquite a young city. Thepopulation of the city isabout one million people. Itis not a very large city, butit is very important as thecapital of the USA.
The White House.
The White House, the residence of the President is the oldestbuilding in the capital and one of the most beautiful. It is two-storied white building. The White House has 132 rooms. Visitorsmay tour some of the first-floor rooms.
The centre of New-York is Manhattan Island.
Today Manhattan is the centre of business andcommercial life of the country. There are manyskyscrapers, banks and offices of business in Manhattan.
The statue of Liberty
The statue of Libertywas built in New-York Harbor in1886. It was a giftfrom the people ofFrance. The statueof Liberty isAmerica’s symbol offreedom.
The Capitol.
Washington hasmany historicalplaces. The largestand highest buildingin Washington is theCapitol, where theCongress of the USAmeets. It is a verybeautiful buildingwith white marblecolumns.
The Washington monument.
Not far from the Capitol is the Washingtonmonument, which looks like a very big pencil.A special lift brings visitors to the top in 70seconds and they can enjoy the view of the city.
The Niagara Falls, on the Niagara RiverBetween Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, areone of the most splendid sights in theworld.
